History of Blessed William Richardson

In 1957 mass was said in an upstairs room at The Lord Conyers, a pub that no longer exists.

In 1966 the Salvation Army Citadel was taken over as a chapel of ease.

In 1985 it was restored and blessed as St Augustine's.

In 2013 it was rededicated to Blessed William Richardson mainly due to the determination of Mrs Margaret Murphy who had a devotion to our local martyr.

Margaret shared her memories and reflections in the dedication mass on 15 February 2013
