Welcome to Blessed William Richardson
The church is a wonderful community church. The people have got to know each other and stay after Mass to catch up. We celebrate peoples special birthdays and support each other through difficult times.
W are trying to respond to the appeal made by Pope Francis to renew and review our communities. He tells us "that the parish is the presence of the Church in a given territory, an environment for hearing God's Word, for growth in the Christian life, for dialogue, charitable outreach, worship and celebration". He also says that we have a lot to learn about getting closer to people and how to be more outgoing.
Fr Brian told us that we live in an area that has the lowest number of church going people in all of Europe so we feel our presence in Kiveton is important. It is the only Christian church in the village of Kiveton so we try to engage as much as we can with the Anglican and Methodist churches in Wales the next village.
We have a small number of regular attendees and a vibrant community with a great liturgy each week.
We have an hour of prayer every Tuesday rom 11.30-12.30. We would love you to join us or put a special request for prayers in the book at the back of church.
