ECUMENICAL LENTEN GROUP:  The first meeting takes place at Blessed William Richardson Church, Kiveton at 7pm on Thursday 22nd February.  All welcome. Further dates to be published when available.


The Diocesan Communications group would like to broaden its membership so that it is more representative of people from all over the diocese. The group currently meets monthly for about 60 minutes. If you have any skills or experience in journalism, website development or social media content generation and are willing to share your knowledge and experience we would love to hear from you. Contact Arthi Fernando for more information or to express your interest in joining the group.


 I intend to get professionally printed a 24 page publication titled “Just Being” in memory of my sister Pat and in memory of Pastoral Renewal Exchange (the final edition, PRE 164, was published in May 2023). Printed copies should be ready by April. If anyone would like a printed copy, please let me know by phone or email (many parishioners have these). There will be no charge for the publication, but there will be an invitation to contribute to a fundraiser to help a young mother in Rotherham (who has talked at St Joseph’s and is known to many of us as T) achieve her dream to: 1 produce an initial publication of her writing; 2 create a brand that incorporates the artwork that helped her heal; 3 create an enterprise that helps others to heal through art; 4 succeed in buying her Council house. We are looking for a Safeguarding Training Officer who will be an integral part of the Safeguarding Team and share in the responsibility to keep children, young people and vulnerable adults safe.  


The role will contribute to the development of and ensure the implementation of the diocesan safeguarding training strategy across the whole Diocese and will organise and deliver a rolling programme of safeguarding training to a wide range of stakeholders including office holders, employees and volunteers.  


You should be a qualified, experienced professional who combines experience of safeguarding work and training delivery with approachability and a readiness to respond to a range of individuals across the Diocese.


Salary £28,500 - £30,639 (based on experience)

Full time, 35 hours per week, or available part time as a job share includes evening and/or weekend working for training delivery

10% employer contribution to pension

Generous holiday entitlement

Based at Diocesan Church House in Rotherham but with hybrid working from home
