UKRAINE: Parishioners donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal last year, an update has been received from them regarding their response to the breach of the Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine: Father Vitaliy Novak, CEO of Depaul Ukraine, a local partner of DEC charities CAFOD and Plan International UK said: "Our team in Odesa has been inundated with calls from people urgently needing accommodation. Since the first day of the war, Depaul Ukraine has worked day-in-day-out to help displaced people with emergency shelter, food and medical supplies - this will be no different. Thanks to the £400 million raised by the UK public to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, DEC charities and their local partners are able to respond right now and continue to adapt as the situation evolves."

Great Big Green Week is 10th– 18th June. It is the UK's biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature and St. Joseph’s are taking part!!

Parish Event Sun 11 June Exhibition of Environment Friendly and Plastic Free Products in

St. Joseph's, this will be an opportunity to check out some tried and tested eco - products.

Suggestion for personal action– do one thing for nature each day eg. Put out a dish of

water on the ground for birds and hedgehogs. Identify the wildflowers and butterflies in

your garden or on a walk.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO DEEPEN YOUR FAITH AND RESPOND TO YOUR BAPTISMAL CALLING: The diocese is looking for participants to join the Loyola University Certificate in Pastoral Ministry which begins in September. The customized certificate consists of ten six-week modules delivered in an online format allowing participants the freedom and flexibility of study in their own home. Participants need to be serious about their own faith development, willing to serve in the local church and have competent computer skills. There will be an informal hybrid meeting for anyone who would like more information at the Hallam Pastoral Centre on 4 July at 7:00 PM. OPEN EVENING: St Bernard's are holding an open evening for children who are in Y5 on

Tuesday 13th June from 4-6pm. This is a great opportunity for parents to bring their children to have a look around the school and meet the staff and students.


HOME FROM HOME: It is now almost a year since Home from Home Hallam welcomed a Syrian refugee family to Sheffield. There have been many challenges along the way but the family is doing very well and adjusting to life in Sheffield. FRUITS OF THE SYNOD MEETING

An opportunity to come together and hear from each other about how the fruits of the synod are developing in Hallam Diocese.

With the submissions of all the Continental Assemblies to Rome in preparation for the meeting of Bishops in October, we have an opportunity to reflect on the synodal process in our own diocese. This gathering will allow us to share some of the Fruits of the Synod that are happening in parishes across the Hallam Diocese.
