We pray that people living with disabilities may be at the center of attention in society, and that institutions may offer inclusive programs which value their active participation.

Please pick up a flier with  the Christmas Services details (available in both churches)


POLITE REQUEST: Please could parishioners not  leave Christmas cards in church

for collection.  Frequently they are not collected and end up in the recycling.  Parisoners are encouraged to write their Christmas greetings to each other on the tags provided   and

place them  on the Christmas tree in both churches. At Kiveton parishioners are asked to

make a donation for Sat 7 which supports Christian’s in the Middle East via satelite TV and St Joseph’s is for the  Koby Foundation and Mary’s Meals,


ADVENT FOOD COLLECTION: A food collection for The Salvation Army food bank  is taking place during Advent. Please leave donations in the basket at the entrance to St Joseph’s.   Thank you.

FRIENDS OF THE HOLY LAND: The situation for Christian families in the Holy Land has gone from very difficult to critical, amidst the turmoil and horror of the Israeli/Palestinian war and we face the possibility of the last members of the ancient Christian community leaving the homeland of our faith forever.  Friends of the Holy Land has provided practical help to 1,100 people sheltering in the Gaza church compounds – including children and people who are injured and ill and the Al-Ahli Hospital, which is still doing its best to look after patients who can’t be moved. All together over £90,000 has been sent so far, so that those sheltering in their churches and the hospital could survive.  The usual Christmas  traditions and celebrations in Bethlehem are suspended  in solidarity with those suffering. We are asked to support their appeal by donating to:

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION:  Preparation will begin in January for Easter 2024. The sacrament is available to all baptised catholic children in year 3 and above.  If you wish for your child to take part, please collect a letter from the back of Church today. DIOCESAN ILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES:- Friday 28th June – 4th July 2024

Bishop Ralph invites you to join him on the 2024 Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes.  Booking forms available to download at www.hallam-lourdes.com. Enquiries 01302 247910 or 07724 650066

Fare £879pp - 6 nights Full Board (excl. Ins.) flying from Leeds Bradford Airport direct to Lourdes.  Applications are particularly welcome from pilgrims who need help due to medical issues/mobility.  Volunteer doctors, nurses and helpers are also required.

 

HALLAM YOUTH – LOURDES:  Details are available through each diocesan High School for young people to travel with their school groups. Young people aged 16-18 in parishes, who do not attend Catholic schools, and wish to join Hallam Youth on the diocesan pilgrimage please email smcdonald@hallam-diocese.com for details.

Live Simply and Sustainably with Creation: Try to shop more ethically this Christmas, try to buy Fairtrade and avoid shopping at Amazon where possible.

Live in Solidarity with the Poor:  Pray for Peace in the World and an end to conflict
