PARISH PRAYER FOR THE WEEK:  We pray for all who have gone before us in faith, especially those of our own families and of this parish that they may stand with the saints before the throne of the Lamb.

Lord in your mercy…..

THE POPE’S INTENTION FOR  NOVEMBER:  For the proper use of wealth

Let us pray for the proper use of wealth, that not succumbing to the temptation of selfishness, it may always be put at the service the common good and solidarity of those who have less.

LIVE SIMPLY NOVEMBER:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming part of everyday life, sometimes without us even realising it.  Used thoughtfully, AI can save time, make information more accessible and help us tackle difficult challenges. However it's growing uses vast amounts of electricity and water and contributes to climate change. Please use AI wisely and responsibly.

NOTICES:

We welcome Fr. Andrew Browne to celebrate our Mass this Sunday

SERVICE OF LIGHT:

The service of Light- Remembering our loved ones will be held at St Joseph's on Tuesday 17th November at 7 00 pm. All welcome.

PRAYERS AND SUPPORT FOR T:

Please continue to pray for T,  an adult survivor of CSE/A living in Rotherham, who has been forced to leave her long-term home due to safety concerns. Rotherham Council has urgently approved her application to move, and she may need to relocate at very short notice. T has spoken to groups at St Joseph's in the past and is known to some parishioners. A fundraiser has been set up by Liam Harron to help with moving costs and has already raised over £1,200. T sends her heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated so far. Please read T’s story which you will find on an information leaflet at the back of church. If you would like to contribute, visit: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/justb2  or simply share this information with someone else you may know. Many thanks.

ANNUAL SAFEGUARDING MEETING:

Saturday 14th November 9.45-4pm at St Peter-in-Chains, Doncaster.  Bishop Marcus is attending along with a variety of interesting guest speakers. The event is open to Clergy, Safeguarding Reps, parishioners and volunteers. Free refreshements and lunch provided. Call Jo Pearson on 0114 2566453 to book your place.

CLOTHES COLLECTION:

There will be a collection of pre-loved good condition clothes for the Clothing Bank throughout October and November.  Please bring them to Church or drop them off at Chris Parrott's house (tel no 07917542303). The Clothing Bank is a charity that provides parcels of clothes for people who can't afford to buy them. Without decent clothes, people can't go for job interviews, children miss school, and older people stay at home and become isolated and lonely. Your donations will transform lives!

DONATE!:

If you have any unused spectacles and sunglasses  don’t leave them lying about in a drawer! Bring them to St Joseph’s and Blessed William Richardson where they will be sent off for redistribution or recycling. It doesn’t matter how old they are or what state.  Collection boxes are available in both churches.  The deadline for your donations is 15th November.

DO YOU HAVE ANY UNWANTED FURNITURE?

The St Vincent de Paul Furniture Store on Queens Road, Sheffield, collects and then redistributes unwanted furniture and household items without charge to people who are disadvantaged because of poverty, deprivation and other circumstances.  If you have any items to donate or wish to make a cash donation to support our work, please phone 0114 270 3990 between 9.00am and 3.00pm or visit www.svp.org.uk/sheffield-furniture-store.

THE HALLAM BRIDGE:

Please see    the latest issue of the Hallam Bridge on our parish website. You can also subscribe to receive Hallam Bridge to your own in box using this link https://hallam-diocese.com/bridge/  and you will receive it as soon as it is released.

DIGITAL GIVING:

Hopefully you have seen the credit card reader which has recently been installed at the back of St Joseph’s church. Sadly there was a small deficit last year in our parish funds and therefore it needs to be as easy as possible for parishioners to contribute to our parish.

There are now two new ways of cashless giving

      1.    It’s very easy to use the card reader at the back of church, clear instructions are

           with the machine,

OR

      2.    You can use the QR code in church and on the website, just scan the code and

           follow the simple instructions

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR SICK: George Blow and his grandma;  Victoria Broughton; Christopher Browne;  Jim Chandler;   Sam Cleasby;  Dave Collins; Betty Delaney;  Pat Duffin;    Gillian Gee;  Robert Hume;   Sophie Hughes;  Jed Krotki;  Kumba;  Dominic Lear;  Isabel Main-Reade;  Haylen Markillie;  Charlie Massarella;   Emma Pearson (Glen’s daughter);  Janet Reilly; Annie Reynolds;  Maria Senogles;  Judith Sherratt;  Sandra Sherratt;   Glen Stevens; Margaret Tyler and Teresa Williams.
