Reflection Meeting – 4.3.2026

Reflection – Moving Forward

SH briefed the group on the additional meetings there have been around this area and said that while we continue to celebrate all that is good in the parish, to move forward, we need to promote high quality communication in the parish and beyond. We need an audit of what is happening and who is responsible for each ministry. It was strongly agreed that every ministry have at least two people who can lead where necessary so that the onus is not on one person to be solely responsible. It was agreed that each ministry should sort this themselves and then share this information, probably with SH or JC as our parish co-ordinators.

It was suggested that there be some document to highlight this which can be readily available and easily seen by parishioners. The WhatsApp group which already does this digitally has been the first step, we also need to extend this to all parishioners and visitors. This will also meet Safeguarding protocols. AN has already put together a document about the Bereavement Support Ministry as a model.

JC after conversation with Fr Andy stated that Andy wanted everyone to take a shared vision in our journey ahead and Service of the Word at St Joseph’s needs developing further. SH suggested that laity sometimes say the opening/concluding prayers at Mass when Andy is available, to ease into this process and help parishioners to see that involving laity more is a positive thing rather than negative.

Easter – following on from the above comments it was felt that as Easter is such a major event and has been organised so successfully for a number of years (but with a huge responsibility and duty for one person), that we share the burden of this. While keeping the program the same, it would be beneficial for all that more people be involved and help with the day to day duties that need to be done. One idea was that someone be responsible for one of the days, or perhaps a small team to help with organisation. With this in mind MC is to organise a meeting for this.

Safety rail – AN asked that a rail be placed near the Lectern for those parishioner or visitors who might need it.

Maintenance – Fire check to be completed. Property at back of BWR. MM had conversation about the boundary at the rear of the building and is awaiting update.

Noticeboards outside – need checking that the information is true and up to date. CP offered to ask that the hedges be cut lower so that the board can be seen better from the road. ES said she will update the boards when this is done in May. CP asked about glass being added to the board so that posters can be displayed without them suffering weather damage. MM to be asked about this.

Lenten Day of Recollection – at St Vincent’s, Sheffield on 21^st March 2026 at 11am-1pm

School Mass – 19^th March 2026, St Joseph’s Feast Day. 10.30 am

Sausage Sandwiches/ Cake Sunday – SH asked about bringing this back after Lent. AB suggested this was something that the Confirmation candidates could help run.

Coffee Afternoon – Wednesday 11^th March 2026 at 12.30. No Mass as Andy is away.
