FR. ANDY WRITES:
Many thanks to all who contributed to our wonderful Holy Week celebration. Thank you for your faithful service and for making the celebration of Holy Week truly beautiful and meaningful. From the services of the Triduum, the music and the floral decorations to those who worked in the background keeping our church looking so wonderful, those who provided us with refreshments and those who came to faithfully celebrate the wonder of Christ’s passion and ressurection. It was truly a team labour of love and it yielded such a wonderful harvest. Thank you also for your cards, gifts and especially for your prayers. They mean so much. God bless you all. Fr Andy.

XAVERIAN ANNUAL APPEAL 2026:
Throughout the year 2026, all parishes within the Diocese of Hallam have been called upon to participate in supporting the Xaverian Annual Mission Appeal. This initiative offers parish communities an opportunity to engage with the charitable work carried out by the Xaverian Missionaries, and to learn more about their mission and outreach. The appeals will take place on Saturday, 25th April: 6.00pm Mass at Blessed William Richardson and Sunday, 26th April: 9.30am Mass at St Joseph's. To help facilitate the priest's visit as part of the appeal, support from the parish community is required. We are seeking a volunteer who would be willing to provide overnight accommodation for the visiting priest on Saturday, 25th April. If you are able to help, contact Anne-Marie Carroll on 07841 038633 at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your generosity.
SENT TO SHARE FAITH:
On 17 April 2026 three Franciscan Friars, Fathers Casey Cole, Tito Serrano and Jason Damon from Charlotte in the USA will be visiting the Diocese to help us to think about how we can spread the Gospel today. They have recently started a mission to reach young adults, spiritual seekers, and those disconnected from the Church through authentic presence, conversation, and compassion. Rooted in the spirit of St. Francis, SEARCH is about walking with others, sharing Christ’s love, and inviting hearts to renewal and healing.
They are hosting two events. The first at the Cathedral specifically aimed at young people and young adults at 1:15 following the midday Mass and the second aimed at a wider audience at St Francis of Assisi beginning with Mass at 6:00 pm.
