JOSIE JOHNSON RIP: Josie died on Thursday 2nd June at Ackroyd Nursing Home where she had been receiving palliative care. The funeral service is Friday at 10am at St Joseph’s followed by a cremation at Barnby Moor Crematorium. We offer condolences to her niece Ann and the family and remember them in our prayers.

‘Day for Life’ is the day in our calendar set aside to celebrate life from conception to natural death. This year the focus is on caring for and valuing the elderly. Funds raised from this second collection support various Day for Life initiatives, which focus on upholding the dignity of every human life from conception to natural death. M00C ON THEOLOGY AND PRACTICE OF SYNODALITY: Are you ready to learn more about the theology and practice of Synodality? We are excited to announce that the first course in the new MOOC, “Theology and Practice of Synodality" will be offered online in July 2022. Over a period of three weeks, different topics on Common discernment and Decision making in the Church will be covered.This course is part of a larger project to accompany formation for more than 100,000 people who have been called to this process of ecclesial renewal. All of the courses will be offered free of charge in several languages—Spanish, English, Portuguese, French and Italian.The world is changing. Our Church is changing. But we are not alone in this transformation. We have been called to participate in the renewal of our Church, and this course will help us do just that. BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE SERVICE: As part of our growing provision, Caritas Hallam is looking to create a database of parishioners who are willing and able to provide BSL services to the Diocese of Hallam on an ad hoc basis.This might be for example at a marriage service where BSL would be a welcome enhancement to the service or it might be as a request from a Parish Priest for a BSL signed Mass.If you are a parishioner that would be willing and able to provide BSL service, please get in touch with Caritas Hallam for more details on 0114 256 6407 or email gshaw@hallam- diocese.com


WORLD YOUTH DAY, Lisbon, August 2023. Hallam Diocese is taking 35 young people aged 17 - 30 to WYD next year. This is a great experience of Church where young people from every continent gather to celebrate their Catholic Faith in the presence of the Pope. DIOCESE OF HALLAM 40th ANNUAL SHRINE PILGRIMAGE TO WALSINGHAM: Saturday 23rd July 2022. Coach Pick-up locations are St Joseph's, Retford DN22 6LA at 08:20 Car Park available. St Helen's, Oldcotes S81 8JF at 08:40 Car Park available, and St Joseph the Worker, Worksop at 09:10.

Programme:- Arrive at Walsingham Village 12:15pm. Elham House will provide an (optional), Pre-booked 2-course lunch + Tea and Coffee at 1pm.The Procession will leave the Village at 2.15pm. Those with disability impairments will be escorted by Coach to the Shrine.Vigil Mass at 4.00pm. Depart Walsingham Shrine at 5.45pm….

FLAME: FLAME is a Catholic gathering of young people in England and Wales! FLAME – CYMFed which has been going since 2012 and each time it gets bigger with almost 10,000 young people there in 2019! The event takes place 4th March 2023. The Hallam Diocese has tickets available (so PLEASE do not book your tickets through the main site).The suggested age is 13+ as there is a lot of sitting involved listening and engaging with music and speakers.
