MISSIONARY APPEAL: We welcome sister Stella Maris of the Daughters of Divine Love who will speak to us at our Masses this weekend about the work they do with less privileged people in society. They are an International congregation founded in Nigeria in 1969 and are members of the Missionary Sisters of England and Wales. There will be a retiring collection following Mass to support the work of the Sisters.
HALLAM DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO OUR LADY’S SHRINE, WALSINGHAM: Saturday 22nd July 2023. Coopers Coach (Killamarsh), will depart from St Joseph’s Dinnington at 07:40, St Helen’s Oldcotes at 08:00, St Joseph the Worker, Worksop at 08:20 and St Joseph’s Retford at 08:50. Coach fares: Adult £25, Child/Student £12.50. Itinerary:- Comfort Stop en route, to arrive in Walsingham approx.12:15pm. There is an (OPTIONAL) Meal arranged to be served at 1pm in Elmham House for those who wish to pre-order. The meal is 2-course with 3 choices of Menu for Main and Dessert +Tea and Coffee. Adult £15 - Child Menu £7.50 ages 4 to16. Children under 4 Free. After lunch, at 2:15pm the Procession will be led by Bishop Ralph from Friday Market to the Shrine Basilica. Pilgrims with mobility impairment or for other reasons who wish not to walk will be transported by coach to the Shrine. The Vigil Mass will be Celebrated in the Shrine Basilica at 4.00pm. Depart Walsingham at 5.30pm for the return journey. Please see the Posters in Church for all the details. If you do choose to pre-book a meal please write your Choices of Menu and place the Payment, together with the Coach Fare in an envelope with your Name, Contact number/email and Parish clearly labelled. This can be given to either Marian Johnson or Catherine Brown (St Joseph’s, Retford). (Cheques made payable to Catherine Brown). Receipts will be issued to confirm your Booking.
CORONATION MASS: A Deanery Mass for the Coronation of King Charles III will take place
on that Friday 5th May, at 6pm, in St Mary Magdalene, Maltby. All are welcome to attend.

FAIRER BENEFITS AND AN END TO THE NEED FOR FOODBANKS: A fairer benefits system that eliminates the need for charitable food aid will be the headline topic at the annual meeting of Church Action on Poverty (CAP) in Sheffield.The local group of the national ecumenical Christian social justice charity, whose supporters include the Diocese of Hallam, will hear from Maria Marshall, from the Independent Food Aid Network, the charity campaigning for a country without the need for charitable food aid where adequate and nutritious food is affordable to all.CAP’s AGM takes place at 7pm on Thursday April 27 at the Central United Reform Church, 60 Norfolk Street, Sheffield, S1 2JB.All are welcome to attend.
PLANNING SYNOD MEETING: We are having a gathering up on what's been going on over the last year since the last big meeting. There will be a planning meeting to think about this.
Anyone who wants to contribute for the planning meeting can come to the PC on the 17th of May at 7pm, join by zoom or send your contributions to the formation and mission team.

2023 HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE: Hallam. Bishop Ralph Heskett CSsR, Bishop of Hallam, will lead a pilgrimage to the Holy Land from 16th to 23rd October 2023.The pilgrimage departing Manchester on 16th October 2023, will include visits to The Church of the Annunciation, Mount Tabor the site of theTransfiguration of Jesus, and Capernaum, the home of St Peter.Pilgrims can pray at The Church of the Beatitudes, visit the site of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes at Tabgha and the Primacy of Peter site, before enjoying a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee. After visiting the Church of the Pater Noster, pilgrims descend the Mount of Olives, via the Palm Sunday route to the Church of Dominus Flavit. St Peter’s in Gallicantu, the Palace of Caiaphas, Mount Zion, St Anne’s Church. The pools of Bethesda and the Chapel of the Cenacle are also included.In Bethlehem pilgrims visit the Basilica of the Nativity: St Catherine’s Church and the Shepherd’s Fields. The Birthplace of John the Baptist in Ein Karim and the Church of the Visitation are also included. Mass is offered each day at one of the locations visited.
