NOTICES:
RETIRING COLLECTIONS: There will be second collections after Masses this weekend for Leprosy Sunday, the w/e of 31st January/1st February for Racial Justice Sunday and 7/8th February for sick and retired clergy.
RIP CHRISTINE MORTON:
Many of you will remember Christine whose son Darren attended St Joseph’s School.
Christine was very active in the Parish during that time and for some time after Darren moved to High School. Christine died on Wednesday of last week. Her funeral service is at St Joseph’s on Friday the 6th February at 11.00 followed by Cremation at Babworth Crematorium.
HEALING MASS:
There is a Mass for the sick on Saturday 14th February at St. Joseph’s at 2.00pm with the Medugorje pilgrimage group followed by The Rosary and shared table. The celebrant is Fr Geoff Bottoms. All welcome.

IGNATIAN SPIRITUAL EXERCISES: Mens’ retreat, 4 & 11 February 2026:
A fantastic opportunity to experience St Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises in a 5-day, shortened form. The retreat will be guided by the monastic community of St Joseph’s Abbey, Flavigny (France), who were founded with the specific charism of offering this version of the Exercises and with a particular apostolate to men. The retreat is open to men in all states of life, who wish to seek God’s will through a deepened detachment from the world.
LOVE & BEAUTY IN ST JOHN’S SPIRITUAL CANTICLE, 20 - 22 February 2026:
2026 marks the centenary of the declaration of St John of the Cross as a a Doctor of the Church. In honour of this anniversary, Fr Matthew Blake, OCD will offer a weekend reflecting on the themes of love and beauty in the most celebrated poetry of the great Spanish mystic.
MARRIAGE PREPARATION RESIDENTIAL WEEKEND COURSE, 13 - 15 March 2026:
The CHC’s weekend marriage prep course is intended for couples who wish to engage more deeply with the Catholic vision for marriage. Structured around the elements of the marriage rite, couples will reflect deeply on foundational Scriptural texts to gain a deeper understanding of both the natural and Sacramental aspects of Matrimony. The weekend is framed by prayer, time for reflection personally and as a couple, group discussion and a social.

DIGITAL GIVING:
Hopefully you have seen the credit card reader which has recently been installed at the back of St Joseph’s church. Sadly there was a small deficit last year in our parish funds and therefore it needs to be as easy as possible for parishioners to contribute to our parish.
There are now two new ways of cashless giving
1. It’s very easy to use the card reader at the back of church, clear instructions are with the machine,
