NOTICES
RETIRING COLLECTION: Last weekend’s collection for "World Mission Sunday" raised £177.00. Thank you.
SYNOD UPDATES: The Vatican press conference on Thursday announced the publication of the next phase of the synod. We heard from some of the key people responsible for putting the synthesis report together. Well worth watching or reading (depending on how good your Italian is - there is an English transcript, the video of the press conference moves from English to Italian!) to help you understand where we are up to with the synod across the world.
What they said was that they had read every single submission to the synod questions , and have synthesised these into a 56 page document. Here’s the link: https://www.synod.va/en/highlights/working-document-for-the-continental-stage.html. When we have all read and digested it, we can begin to think , in your groups, parish and diocese, about how it helps us to discern the next steps for Hallam. Peace be with you all.
CHILDREN’S LITURGY: We are looking to reinstate the Children’s Liturgy on a Sunday Mass initially for the last Sunday of each month and then depending on numbers to increase in the future. We are desperately seeking help from volunteers to run the sessions and also someone to co-ordinate the group. Pre-covid we had a good number of valued volunteers and would welcome them back and new parishioners to the group. If you would like to join us or want to know more information please contact Alison Bergomi via either email alisonbergomi@hotmail.co.uk or 07977341619. Safeguarding paperwork is required to be completed before the sessions start so a prompt reply would be appreciated.
COMMUNITY WARM HUBS: Dinnington Council along with Churches and local hubs are hoping to set up a warm spaces for people to be able to go to at different times of the week. The aim is to offer a hot drink some refreshment to anyone who needs to keep warm. The scheme is starting on November the 1st. St. Joseph’s are offering Wednesday and Thursday afternoon 12-3pm. We will need some volunteers to help out each week, making tea and coffee and making sure everyone feels welcome.
