NOTICES
RIP Franz Disco: Franz died on 13 November 2022 aged 100. Franz Disco and his wife Miep were friends with Mary and Gerald Capper through Miep's and Mary's pen pal friendship which started prior to WW 2. Following Mary and Gerald's visit to Leidschendam to stay with Miep and Franz in the late 1960's and Gerald meeting with the local Catholic Junior school head, the 'Dutch exchange' was born. The first trip took place in the early 1970's. Initially children from St. Joseph's, stayed with families in the Netherlands, then older Dutch children came to stay with families from the parish. Gerald organised the exchange through St. Joseph's school until his retirement. Franz was the last of the original Dutch families that helped to start what became a lovely exchange of friendships for many years. Please remember him and his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in your prayers.

If anyone would like to put their name on a card and wish the parish Happy Christmas please write your name on the card and hang it on the tree. This is certainly part of Living simply. A donation box is at the side for any donations to Marys Meals and a sponsor is going to treble the money collected for the charity.
Hallam Bridge: This is a new venture of the Diocese which replaces the old ‘Hallam News’ and provides a link between the Diocese and all the parishes to bring articles, items dealing with the way in which people are journeying together in faith throughout Hallam, news items and up-coming events.
The Hallam Bridge will be available from this Sunday through the Diocesan website either via the link on the Home page or directly at https://hallam-diocese.com/bridge/ It is also available via the link as a printable PDF version. You can also subscribe for an email copy to be sent direct to your inbox. The form enabling this is on the Hallam Bridge website.

Alternatively, to make a donation you can also call their office on 01926 512980
Mary’s Meals – Double the Love : From 1 November 2022 to 31 January 2023, donations made to Mary’s Meals will be doubled by a group of generous supporters, up to £1.5million. Today, we face some of our greatest challenges yet in a world devastated by conflict, food insecurity and the cost of living crisis, which we know is affecting people here in the UK as well as in the countries where we work. With Double the Love, your donation will be matched and your kindness will go even further – meaning we can reach even more desperately hungry children with a life-changing school meal. There are many ways to get involved, find out more at marysmeals.org.uk
ADVENT FOOD COLLECTION: Food donations for St Wilfrid’s will be collected throughout Advent. Please bring your donations to Church. Thank you.
