A letter from Cafod.

Dear Christine,

Thank you to all parishioners at St Joseph for your generous support to CAFOD and for your latest donation of £470 which we received this week. We have received a total of £470 from your parish. We are still processing donations. If you have also sent us donations via post, online or through the contactless device in your parish, we look forward to sending you an updated total soon. Your prayers and gifts will make such a difference to communities on the front line of the climate crisis, those suffering the worst effects of climate change, and those who are dedicating their lives to protect our common home. This Family Fast Day, we shared Ivanilde’s story. Local experts from our church family have helped Ivanilde's community win the right to stay and protect the piece of Amazon they call home. They have replanted and restored her corner of the rainforest. She says: ‘I hope that we can have more love and more care for nature.’ Ivanilde’s life is a beacon of hope for our world, which we can live in harmony with creation and our global family. Thank you for sharing this hope, for your faith, and for reaching out in love to our sisters and brothers who are experiencing the worst effects of the climate crisis. If you need anything from us, please do get in touch - we’re here for you! Whilst post is a little slower for us, you can call our supporter care team on 0303 303 3030 or email us at, please do get in touch - we’re here for you!

Thank you and God bless, Michelle Oakford Head of Support Relations
