Woodland Clearance at St Joseph’s
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with The Conservation Volunteers.
Date
6th October 2021
Time
10.00am – 2.00pm (with a break for lunch) Note: If you are not able to stay for the full session then don’t worry. Please just inform the leader when you leave.
Location
St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Lidgett Lane, Dinnington, Sheffield, S25 2QD
About the session
TCV have partnered with St Joseph’s on the ‘Outside is Fun’ project to help get children outdoors as part of their school learning experience. The strip of woodland bordering the school field has been left to overgrow and is unused. The task is to, with your help, clear the undergrowth (mostly Ivy) and create safe access through the area.
Parking
There is limited parking on the school site. If able, please find alternative street parking and walk onto site through the front school gate. You will need to press the intercom to alert the office.
Meeting point
Please meet at the large gates that lead to the school field from the carpark. You may be required to sign in as a visitor at the school reception.
Footwear and clothing
Please wear sturdy footwear and clothing appropriate for the time of year and weather conditions. Wellies are great in wet weather. We recommend wearing trousers and long-sleeved tops throughout the year to protect your arms and legs from cuts, scratches and insect bites.
Tools and Equipment
All tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) required for the task will be provided by TCV.
Lunch/Break
Please bring your own food & drink for a sociable lunch break halfway through the day. TCV will also provide tea and coffee.
Facilities
There are toilet facilities in the school building that will be accessible for us to use throughout the day. Only staff toilets should be used.
Join in, feel good!
