SEASON OF CREATION: Catholic Dioceses across the UK are preparing in various ways for the upcoming Season of Creation, (September1st - October 4th).

These include using special penitential rites and bidding prayers for Sunday Masses, holding services celebrating and thanking God for Creation, saying rosaries and novenas, and organising parish and Diocesan walks.

The ancient practice of pilgrimage, honoured by many of the world's great faiths, has a renewed focus in this age of climate and ecological emergency. Walking together with intention, mindfulness and prayer creates a different pace and place in relationship to the earth and with each other.

There are already 'Pilgrimages for the Planet' arranged for 9th September in London, Glasgow, Bristol and Merseyside.

In Sheffield there will be an afternoon riverside walk along Porter Brook from Endcliffe Park to Forge Dam and back on Saturday 9th September, meeting outside Endcliffe Park Cafe at 2pm. An opportunity to come together in thanksgiving and enjoyment of lovely surroundings. For more information contact Columba at environmentalleads@hallam-diocese.com.)

There will be an ecumenical circular walk with stops for reflection and prayer from Grindleford Station on the afternoon of Saturday 23rd September. This is organised by Green Christian - more details from catherinefish@greenchristian.org.uk.
