DINNINGTON COMMUNITY BBQ: Free Community BBQ

4 – 8pm Monday 28th August at Dinnington Methodist Church, Laughton Road, S25 2PS

Open to everyone and hosted by Dinnington churches. BBQ, games and a chance to have your say on what Dinnington needs. See posters and flyers at the back of church (at St Joseph’s)


LOST CHORD: At the Methodist church in Wales a new meeting each month is starting up. It will be led by Lost Chord, an innovative charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and well-being of those living with dementia using interactive musical stimuli. It will be from 12.00 to 1.30 with soup and rolls. There will be a Singalong with old favourites. It will be open to anyone with dementia from a home or anyone who is lonely etc. It will start on 14th Sept.


THE LIGHT PROJECT: Recovery from Domestic Abuse

This is a free service and offers:

  • Individual Counselling

A programme of free, weekly counselling sessions, with the same counsellor. Explore how you are feeling and discuss your experiences in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

Sessions available online and in person.

  • Women’s Well-being Programme

Our 6-week well-being programme covers a range of topics, from rebuilding self-esteem to understanding the effects of stress.

Join us for this relaxed and empowering group available online and in person.

  • Freedom Programme

Caritas Hallam also delivers the Freedom programme. An 11-week support group for those who have experienced domestic abuse. This could be currenting or in the past.

Domestic abuse is not only between couples; it can also occur between a parent and child, or another relative. The term domestic abuse covers not only physical violence but psychological and financial abuse.
